I believe strongly in Home Rule, which is basically the idea that local governments create ordinances that allow them to best govern their respective jurisdictions. Remember, all politics are local and government closest to the voters understands the needs of its community best. The idea of Home Rule has been discussed for a number of years, but has had little real support in Columbia.
We currently have a federal government that, by many accounts, is running wild and seems to care less about what it’s citizenry wants, creating laws that to most of us seem counter to the fundamental principles this country has flourished under, acting as if they know what is best for us. We do not need state government acting in the same manner.
